Tina C. Skaar
Co-founder and CEO
As a founder and CEO of Cala Jade, I am in charge of finance, overseeing operations and strategy. I love to work deeply with creative directions and usually have too many things on the plate and ideas in my head. Challenges and triumphs mixed with great teammates makes it all worth it for me. I am so grateful for the team, customers, partners, friends and family. Cala Jade would not have been around without their support, dedication and contribution.
I am mid mid-century architectural nerd that has a thing for wood. And trees. Either to look up at or be among. You can find me preferably with my two sons and sidekick on an adventure in the mountains or by the sea collecting stones. I find joy in the simple pleasures of life and love old things with patina and history. I can say that I am a big foodie unable to survive without tomatoes. Or pasta, cheese, milk and chocolate. I also love easy going enthusiasm, shared meals with friends and walking around in sandals.
Elise K. Ugland
Co-founder and Head of Design and Production
As the head of design and production, I manage everything from the creative process to overseeing production, as well as contributing to the visual identity and brand development. Being part of a small team means I wear many hats — or like a "potato," I help out wherever I can. I love my job because it’s incredibly diverse! I get to collaborate with a small, dedicated, and creative team, which allows for endless possibilities and constant innovation. I feel happy to see our ideas come to life.
I love traveling but hate to fly.
Anette Wold Nilsen
Supply Chain and Back Office Manager
I started working with Cala Jade in 2009. Back then all of us did a little bit of everything as in every startup. It has been an adventurous journey working together with Tina for so many years, while building everything up stone by stone to what it is today. From fall 2016 until the beginning of 2023, I had a break doing something else, but now I´m happy to be here!
I mainly work with production together with Elise. Everything from handling orders, the stores, to logistics and ordering of zippers. I am also involved in financial tasks alongside Tina.
There are many reasons why I love my job. I like working with production with Elise, especially to have the opportunity to travel to the fairs and factories, and to be able to have a say when it comes to the design process. I really appreciate the team spirit we have at the office. All the smiles and laughter, never a boring day!
I've always been drawn to exploring different spiritual practices and philosophies. I view spirituality as a journey of self-discovery and growth.
Gunnhild Hasla
E-commerce and Marketing Manager
At Cala Jade, I worrk as an e-commerce and marketing manager. What I love most about my job is the opportunity to be both creative and technically skilled. Working with e-commerce is fast-paced, which I love, and that also means that no two days are alike, especially in a company that is growing. We're all driven to make Cala Jade a global brand, and the team makes this a great workplace. I always look forward to starting my day with all the lovely people I work with.
Being creatively inspired is my biggest joy. Whether it´s art, literature, photography, music or design, I love the feeling when something resonates with me. I have a degree in music, and i sing in a band together with my partner who is a professional guitarist. I love finding joy in the small things, and I never pass a thrift store without checking for the perfect ceramics.
Rikke Elvestad
Shop and Back Office Manager
As a shop and back office manager, I do a lot of different things! For example, I manage online orders and maintain close contact with our retailers. I love my job because every one of us shares a big passion for what we do and for the brand itself. Every day at the office is different and fun, and it’s exciting to contribute to Cala Jade's journey!
Outside of work, I enjoy exploring new recipes and cooking delicious meals!
Ivanka Petrovych
Shop and PR specialist
In Cala Jade I am responsible for PR and shop. I build and maintain relationships with journalists, editors, and influencers, writing articles on our website blog, creating content and helping organize events. Growing up in Ukraine, I discovered my passion for storytelling through journalism. Now, I love using my words to share the Cala Jade story. What I love about working at Cala Jade the most is the team of creative, passionate, supportive and fun individuals who are making this brand what it is.
I am an adventurous person who likes to discover new places and activities. I can't imagine my life without sports and used to be an acrobat for six years.
Lise Bakkejord
Shop and Back Office Manager
At Cala Jade, I am responsible for customer service. I handle everything from inquiries to problem-solving. The best part about my job is the constant variety. I love the challenge of tackling different issues. Plus, I'm fortunate to work with an amazing team of dedicated individuals who make coming to work a joy.
In my free time I love spending time in the mountains, surrounded by nature.
And of course we all love beautiful bags and would be happy to share our passion with you!
